No celebration of the histories of Manchester would be complete without a look at the valuable work done by museums, galleries, libraries, schools, universities, archives and historical and cultural societies all around the city.
The Histories Festival will feature displays from over 50 of Manchester's cultural and historical groups, including many of the cities museums and galleries. There will be displays from local history societies and cultural groups from all over Manchester and stalls by national and regional organisations relating to their work in the Manchester area.
You will be able to find out more about the local history of their own areas and discover what the organisations are doing ask. You can ask experts on local history topics, buy books and pamphlets about all sorts of Manchester history topics, enjoy audio-visual displays and lots more!
